The Genesis G70 is a true testament to sophistication and beastly power under the hood. However, whenever there's a discussion about a genuinely capable car, boot space becomes an essential parameter. So the mighty G70 offers a decent 330 liters of boot space, making it a strong contestant in the race for the ultimate executive sedan.
In its first generation (1. Facelift) 2021-now, the G70 had a trunk size of 330 liters. Although it didn't have the option of folding the rear seats to increase carrying capacity, its current boot space is satisfactory for those looking for ample storage room in a car belonging to this group.
But then, comes the real question - how does the G70 lay in the Genesis line-up? The G70 boasts a boot space of 330 liters, putting it right at the lower end of the scale. On the other hand, if you take the G70 Shooting Brake, it features a colossal 465 liters of trunk space, whereas the more SUV-like options, GV60, GV70 Electrified and GV80, hold 432, 503, and 735 liters respectively. In the case of the luxurious G80, its boot swallows up to 424 liters of luggage. Clearly, the G70 still has some ground to cover as far as the boot-space department is concerned within the family.
Like any hero worth their salt, the G70 has its fair share of rivals. Let's kick things off by comparing it to the Godzilla of boot spaces - the Skoda Superb, bragging a spectacular 625 liters. There's also the Renault Talisman with 608 liters and the ever so dependable VW Passat at 586 liters. Toyota's Camry stands strong with 524 liters and Infiniti Q50 posing some challenge at 500 liters. BMW 3er-Reihe and the Audi A4 both offer 480 liters trunk volume, while the Mercedes-Benz C-Klasse and Volvo S60/V60 come in at 455 and 427 liters, respectively. Ford Mondeo, Jaguar XE, and KIA Optima are in the same league as G70, offering 383, 343, and 307 liters of boot space, respectively. And so, the G70 does have an uphill battle to face with many of its immediate competitors offering more trunk space.
